State Theatre, Sydney, New South Wales

Hosted by Michael Willesee. Special Guests were: Paul Hogan, Gordon Jackson (A Town Like Alice), Sam Neill, and USA stars John Denver, Veronica Hamel (Hill Street Blues), Phyllis Diller (comedian).
Performers were John Farnham, Laura Branigan,John Denver, Julie Anthony, Max Gillies and Tracey Harvey. The Awards were televised on the Nine Network.
