Aussies love their hamburgers whether it's from
take away shop or from Burger King (Hungry Jacks) or Mackers. But to many dinky-di Aussies, it must have beetroot on it to be a proper burger.

Martin wrote us that he's a dinky-di Aussie and he hates beetroot. Yes, it's true. Some Aussies just hate beetroot. In fact there are some Aussies that hate Vegemite too.
We don't mean to insult any of our fellow countrymen (or women). If you don't like beetroot (or Vegemite) that's fine.
However, visitors to Australia need to know that they have to say they do NOT want beetroot on their Aussie hamburgers when they order one because it often comes that way automatically (unless you're at Mackers).
The funniest sight is to see an Aussie in America order a burger with beetroot.
