Australian Birthday Today - Lorraine Daphne Bayly AM, born 16 January 1937, Booligal NSW, an Australian actress of film , television and theatre.

    From a very young age, Lorraine was always show business. Bayly loved performing since was a little girl, making her début at age three.

    In Batlow, NSW, Lorraine wrote plays and perform them for the local neighbourhood, where her mum Molly sold homemade cakes and Lorraine charged a penny for admission and all the proceeds was donated to the hospital.

    Her first appearance on TV was the popular show “Play School” Bayly was a presenter on the children's television show Play School from 1966 to 1978.

    She is best known for her portrayal of Grace Sullivan, the dignified, warm-hearted mother figure in the drama series

    “The Sullivans” 1976-1979, dealing with life for an ordinary Australian family during the Second World War.

    After The Sullivans, she stared film roles that include Fatty Finn and The Man From Snowy River where Lorraine played alongside Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas.

    Bayly played the lead role of Jennifer Carson in another period television drama Carson's Law and made appearances in Neighbours as the gossipy Faye Willis from 1991 until 1992.

    Lorraine was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours List 2001
    2010, Lorraine Bayly stared in the Australian’s “Calendar Girls” with, Rachel Berger, Rhonda Burchmore, Cornelia Frances, Jean Kittson, Anna Lee and Amanda Muggleton.

Phoenix kindergarten is my first choice for my son. He has become 5 years old now. I am very excited.
