** See video below of his first TV commercial

Kevin Charles "Pro" Hart MBE
was born on 30 May 1928 at Broken Hill, New South Wales. Pro was considered the father of the Australian Outback painting and widely admired for capturing the true spirit of the outback.

Pro’s Collections were always a sell out. Greeted Kings and Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers, his art resides in many large international collections.

It is estimated that he painted over 70,000 paintings in his lifetime

Pro to prove authenticity of his paintings, used his own DNA and was the first artist worldwide in 2002 to do so.

The younger days of Pro
Pro schooling was by correspondence schooling. At the age 7 he started drawing and illustrating inproving his talent as he matured.

Pro worked as a miner by day and self taught himself to paint during the night.

He earned the nickname “Professor” , the name “Pro” in his younger days because of his inventions.

Pro’s works where mainly painted with oil or acrylic, using paintbrushes and sponges scenes of rural town life.

Pro also did sculptured works using welded steel, bronze and ceramics

His style made it to TV.
Experimenting with art techniques all his life, Pro used any tool or method to achieve the desired outcome for his work

His most famous moment came with a series of television )
carpet commercials for Dupont “StainMaster Carpets”. (see video below

Pro did not limit his art to canvas and carpets, nothing did not escape him, 100's cars, steam shove etc.

His art work can be seen on covers of pocket sized Gideon Bibles, Willow Ware kitchen products, Arnott’s biscuit tins, air conditioners and more.

Pro was not a lover of politicians.
He once suggested
that members of the Australian Labor Party and the Greens be thrown aboard a canoe in the middle of the Tasman Sea, with nothing more than a broken oar and rusted compass.

Pro believed in Government conspiracy theories. He believed that governments have been covering up of UFO "sightings" and had a world "database" containing information on every human on the planet.

Surprisingly Pro a personal friend of One Nation Party founder Pauline Hanson, financially assisted her when she was on trial for fraud charges in 2002.

Pro’s final years
Pro was a collector of vintage cars and motor cycle and invented many kinds of engines and machines in his time.

In 1976, he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire and in 1982 he received an Honorary Life Membership of Society International Artistique for outstanding artistic achievement.

Pro was honoured with an Australian Citizen of the Year award in 1983, and for his charitable work and generosity.

Pro Hart developed motor neurone disease in later life and died on 28 March 2006 at 2:45.

Sadly he had been unable to paint for the last six months of his life.

A large state funeral was held for him on 4 April 2006 in Broken Hill being the first state funeral in New South Wales ever held west of the Blue Mountains.

The value of Pro Hart's artistic works, was almost $30 million at time of his death.

This advertisement was first broadcast on Australian television in the early nineties.
