While the origin of the city's name is debatable, the name "Gold Coast" was bestowed upon the city by real estate investors

94 km (58 mi) south of the state capital Brisbane and is the second most populous city in the state.

International tourists has made the Gold Coast the Australia's 5th most visited destination.

While average temperature is 25°C (77 °F) and average minimum is17.2 °C (63 °F).

For almost 300 days of sunny days the Gold Coast annual rainfall is 1.2 meters (48 inches) in which the city experiences substantial summer thunderstorms and heavy showers.

Things to See and do.
The Gold Coast is today a major tourist destination with surfing beaches, canal and waterway systems, its high-rise dominated skyline, theme parks, night life, and rainforest hinterlands.
